Composite Fillings:
Cost of a Composite Filling |
From £200.00. |
What is a Composite Filling? |
Composite filling or more commonly known as a "white" or "tooth coloured" filling is made of plastic resin. It can be used for restorative and cosmetic work. Composite filling material is a "putty" like consistency to start with. Once the dentist has the desired shape for the filling it is then set with a blue light which sets the material hard. Composite looks a lot like natural enamel therefor people who wish for a more natural appearance may opt for this. Composite filling material is also widely used in cosmetic work and for building up the incisor teeth (the teeth you see when you smile). |

Direct Composite Crown:
Cost of a Direct Composite Crown |
From £400.00. |
What is a Direct Composite Crown? |
As above, Composite filling or more commonly known as a "white" or "tooth coloured" filling is made of plastic resin. It can be used for restorative and cosmetic work. Composite filling material is a "putty" like consistency to start with. Once the dentist has the desired shape for the filling it is then set with a blue light which sets the material hard. A direct composite crown is a filling which covers the whole of the surface of your remaining tooth in the same way a conventional lab made crown does. It covers the "crown". Whilst this can be very effective, it is not as strong or long lasting as a normal crown. It does however have the advantage of retaining more of your existing natural tooth than may be otherwise possible, and will be cheaper than the alternative lab made option. |

Crowns:
An appointment for a crown is split into two appointments. The first appointment is for the preperation of the crown & the second appointment is for the crown to be fit. |
Cost of a Crown |
From £540.00 |
The cost of our crowns varies slightly depending upon the type of crown and the exact materials we use, ranging from £540.00 for a gold alloy crown, porcelain crown with a cast metal substructure or zirconium crown, to £595.00 for a Emax porcelain crown, which often requires a more complex and time consuming process to fit. |
Please note that if there is limited tooth remaining to retain a crown, your dentist may suggest placing a post into the root of the tooth. This will be an additional fee. |
From £200.00. |
What is a crown? |
A crown can give a broken down tooth a new lease of life. A crown is usually suggested when a heavily filled tooth breaks down and there is no longer enough surface to build It back up with filling material. The crown is made in a lab but all the preparation and fitting of the crown is completed by your dentist. Your first appointment for your crown will consist of a preparation appointment where we prepare the tooth for the crown, we then take multiple impressions of the tooth we are crowning. All these impressions will be disinfected and sent to the lab where the crown is made. Before you leave your preparation appointment we will fit a temporary measure in place. You will then attend a further appointment with us so that the crown can be fitted. The turn around period for the crown to be back in the practice is usually 2 weeks. |

Resin Retained Bridge:
An appointment for a bridge is split into two appointments. The first appointment is for the preperation of the bridge & the second appointment is for the bridge to be fit. |
What is a Resin Retained Bridge? |
A resin retained bridge, or more commonly known as a sticky bridge is used to fill a space where a tooth is missing or has been extracted. Much similar to the process of making a crown, a bridge preperation appointment will be required (as stated above, to obtain the bridge - you will require two appointments). A bridge is a good option to disguise the space left from tooth loss. The adjacent teeth will be prepared to support this bridge at the preparation appointment. We will then take impressions of the area before these are disinfected and sent to the lab. You will then attend a further appointment with us so that the bridge can be fitted. The turn around period for the bridge to be back in the practice is usually 2 weeks. |

Conventional Bridge:
An appointment for a bridge is split into two appointments. The first appointment is for the preperation of the bridge & the second appointment is for the bridge to be fit. |
What is a Conventional Bridge? |
Much similar to the process of making a crown or resin retained bridge, a conventional bridge preperation appointment will be required (as stated above, to obtain the conventional bridge - you will require two appointments). A Conventional bridge - in which the false tooth is held in place by a crown on one or more of the teeth adjacent to the space. The advantage of this type of bridge is that it can be used where the supporting teeth have already been filled or crowned. They also tend to be more securely retained in place, so may be used where loads from chewing are greater. They may also be useful where the supporting tooth is worn or stained. We will prep the ajacent tooth much like a crown preperation. We will then take impressions of the area before these are disinfected and sent to the lab. You will then attend a further appointment with us so that the bridge can be fitted. The turn around period for the bridge to be back in the practice is usually 2 weeks. |
